Originally from Erie, PA, Sydney Eastman Burton is currently a graduate student at the University of Florida, pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Flute Performance. At UF, she serves as the Graduate Teaching Assistant, studying with Dr. Kristen Stoner. Sydney earned an MM in Flute Performance from Oklahoma State University (2022) and a BM in Flute Performance from Slippery Rock University of Pennsylvania (2020). Her past teachers include Dr. Erin Murphy, Dr. Cassandra Eisenreich, and Darlene Black.
Professionally, Sydney is a member of the National Flute Association, the Pittsburgh Flute Club, the Oklahoma Flute Society, and the Flute New Music Consortium. She has presented and performed both locally and nationally and has maintained a private studio for several years with student ages ranging from 5 to adult. Sydney is a certified KinderFlute teacher and is currently pursuing training in the Suzuki method.
