Nadia Mezey was invited to the USA after she was awarded “Best Music Teacher” by the Washington Times Foundation in 1997, for the specialized methods she had developed in Russia, which yield a very high level of success for ages 4 through adults. Nadia received her degrees and doctorate in Music Pedagogy and Music Psychology in 1996. She created a new type of school, the Center of Aesthetic Training, where her methods were officially recommended for use in Arts programs in Russia, as well as internationally. Her method of teaching is unique, and is generally considered to be one of the most systematic and successful methods in modern pedagogy. She customizes lesson plans combining each student’s personality, creative and physical talents, aesthetic upbringing and culture. Her methods are a complete musical approach, which results in the pupil gaining an appreciation of musical color and characterization, a true sense of musical form and feeling. Her program is suitable for beginners as young as 3 through advanced adults, and while Nadia expects great results from her students, she knows how to coax the best from even the youngest students.
Having performed as a child prodigy concert pianist, she has held positions as musicologist, composer and Honorary Professor of Music at the State Music Conservatory and International University in Russia (Turkmenistan). We have been most proud to add Dr. Mezey to our faculty, and in her third year with us was awarded “Teacher of the year 2010”. A distinguished educator, Nadia Mezey has presented master classes and workshops at schools, festivals, and universities throughout the world. An excellent master teacher, Nadia’s students regularly win competitions throughout the United States and abroad, and she accepts students of all levels at our Academy.
